Student Success Statement
“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than successful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”
-President Calvin Coolidge
30th president of the U.S.

This quote is saying that persistence is a one of a kind thing. There’s nothing in the world that can replace persistence. Talent is just an illusion, anyone can be as good as someone with “talent”, they just have to persist and try harder and harder until they reach the point they wish to be at. Genius can’t replace persistence, what is a genius who refuses to persist and try hard? Education can’t replace persistence either; there are so many people in the world that are educated. It is those that persist and try hard to get what they want that succeed in the end. If someone wants to be a doctor they can persist until they become one.
