Speech Pathologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

People in this field assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients. After identifying treatment options they teach the patient treating options as well as alternative forms of communication. They work to develop the muscles needed to vocally communicate.

Salary:

$69,870 per year

$33.59 per hour

Education:

A master’s degree is needed in this field along with courses being taken that vary as requirement by institutions.  A license is required in most states along with supervised clinical experience.
